This week marked the beginning of sharing my fitness and wellness challenge, and it’s been a mix of intentional planning and staying flexible amidst life’s curve balls. Here's a quick recap of what Week 1 looked like:
Prepping for Success
To set the tone for the week, I focused on meal planning and prepping workouts. Planning ahead keeps me grounded, but I don’t schedule my workouts for specific days. Instead, I choose flexibility, letting how I feel and how much sleep I’ve gotten determine which days I train. Wednesdays, however, are always a rest day—it’s a non-negotiable part of my routine.
Highlights from the Week
Workouts: I shared some highlights from my gym sessions, which felt great to kick off the challenge.
Chiropractor Visit: Keeping my body in top form includes recovery and maintenance, so I made time for an adjustment this week.
Veterans Day Treat: I stopped by Bibibop to celebrate Veterans Day with a delicious and balanced meal.
Unique Challenges: This week was different because I checked in on friends' pups three times a day, adding extra movement to my routine. Plus, with the holiday, my schedule was a bit busier than usual, but I made it work by staying adaptable.
Weekly Tips
If you’re just starting your journey, here are some simple and effective ways to begin:
Movement: Start with body weight exercises twice a week if you haven’t been working out regularly.
Steps: Focus on increasing your daily steps—it’s an easy way to get more active.
Nutrition: Add a vegetable to every meal. It’s a small change with big benefits.
Mindset: Take time to journal and reflect on how your week went.
My Focus for the Week
At the beginning of the week, I set goals to be consistent with meal prepping, stick to flexible workout plans, and focus on improving one thing: prioritizing movement. I tracked my progress and reflected at the end of the week, noting where I succeeded and where I can grow.
This challenge is all about building habits, not chasing perfection. I’m thrilled to see where this journey takes me, one week at a time. What’s one thing you’re focusing on improving this week? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to cheer you on!
Stay tuned for Week 2, where the theme is all about Progress, Not Perfection!
